What’s Growing

posted by Jennifer Mullin

This month has been particularly fun in The Magick Garden.  Since I only moved in last October, everything is new and there are surprises all the time.  The trees are in leaf, flowers are blooming, the birds are at the feeders (as are the fat grey squirrels!), the wild flowers and wild strawberries have sprung up in the lawn and the air is perfumed with the heady scent of lilacs.

My first Open House~Open Garden day was a success!  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit the Gingerbread House and walk on the grounds of The Magick Garden.  It’s all a work in progress and I’m excited for the day when I can open up The Magick Garden to practitioners, workshop and group leaders, and anyone looking for an outdoor space in which to hold a gathering.

For now here are some photos from around The Magick Garden for you to enjoy!

May in The Magick Garden

posted by Jennifer Mullin

Happy Spring…finally!

Green growing things are popping up all over The Magick Garden!  It’s so exciting since this is my first spring in this house.  I can identify most of what is coming up or in bud, but have no idea what color most of the flowers will be.  I love the anticipation!  I have dug and planted my first garden area in front of a stone retaining wall, moved forsythia and bleeding heart, stuck some Crimson and Gold flowering quince into the ground, planted a fragrant pink honeysuckle next to my entryway, planted a Ruby Tears pink flowering crabapple in the front yard and had fun arranging some garden art and adornments.

Wall garden  There’s a lot going on in The Magick Garden this spring and summer and I’d like to let you know about some of the upcoming events.

Sunday, May 5th-The Enlightenment Expo-10:00-5:00pm-Fireside Inn and Suites, 81 Riverside St., Portland, ME-I will have a table with my Garden Leaves and many other handcrafted nature-inspired art for all you Garden Goddesses out there, with a couple of new items including Little Birds!  I am so excited for you to see these cute little guys!  They would be perfect on their own on a windowsill or mantle, or tucked into a plant pot or faery garden.  Admission for this event is $5.00.

Saturday, May 11th-Open House~Open Garden day-10:00-3:00-The Magick Garden, 141 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME-You are invited to stop by and say hello, take a peek inside my little Gingerbread House and walk around The Magick Garden to see what’s growing.  There will be refreshments, discount coupon for $15.00 off Energy Healing and Raindrop sessions, and a door prize. I thought this would be a good opportunity to share my new home with everyone and allow you to see and hear about my plans for The Magick Garden.  I hope you will come by and visit. I’m really looking forward to meeting those of you I haven’t met, and friends who have yet to see my new home!  This will be held rain or shine.  Bring an umbrella if necessary, and I have some extras for folks to use.  This is no cost for this event. 🙂

Saturday, May 18th-Goddess Am I-5:30pm-The Magick Garden, 141 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME-Join Marie Tucker as she leads this fun and delicious class for women of all ages!  Identify your Goddess archetype and take a guided journey to meet your Inner Goddess.  Learn the different archetypes and how and when to call on them.  Tasty treats will be served and we will be giving all attendees a 10% discount on this summer’s retreat, The Goddess Within~Embrace Your Divine Feminine!  Please contact me to register so we can get a head count: jennifer.bourget@gmail.com or 841-3053.  This is usually about a 3-hour class and cost is $30.00.

Saturday, May 25th-Pagan Circle-1:00-4:00-The Magick Garden, 141 Pleasant St., Richmond, ME-Join us to celebrate the Flower Moon!  We will plan on doing some sort of creative activity, hold a ceremony and eat some yummy treats!  We will hold the ceremony outdoors-weather permitting.  I will post more details about the activity and focus of our ceremony closer to the date.  As always, everyone is welcome to attend.  Please bring something to place on the altar.  Please contact me to let me know if you will be attending:  jennifer.bourget@gmail.com or 841-3053.  There is no cost for this event.

It’s Your Life~Make It A Good One!

posted by Jennifer Mullin

Please accept the following as my gift to you, whether you choose to attend my upcoming workshop or not. ~Jennifer

It’s Your Life~Make It A Good One!

“Survival is important, but thriving is elegant.”  ~Maya Angelou

Author Diane Conway asks, “What would you do if you had no fear?” I ask you the same question.  Fear is the thing that holds most of us back.  Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of being alone, of not having enough money, and on, and on…We doubt ourselves constantly.  There are so many reasons we are discontented or downright miserable.  And here’s the unfortunate and raw, unvarnished truth of it-it’s no one else’s fault but our own.

WE are the authors of our own life story.  WE make our lives what they are.  WE make the decision to live happily, authentically, in passionate love with life…or not.  We cannot control other people; after all, they are writing their own life stories.  But, we have absolute control over how we respond to other people and the effect they have on our life story.

I do not believe we are marionettes having our strings pulled by some unseen hand.  I do believe we are all connected to, and exist within a Universal Spirit/Energy/Life Force/Divine Spirit.  I believe we are indistinguishable from this all-encompassing Divine Spirit; that we are in fact, all divine beings.  We are creators, and we are here in this life to be Happy and Joyful, and live this life from a place of Love and Authenticity.  To simply be ourselves.

~So, I ask you, what are the barriers to you achieving a life that is not simply surviving, but thriving?

~Instead of seeing barriers, begin seeing what you can do to start moving in the direction of your dreams.

~Visualize what it will look like, how it will feel when you have achieved your goal.  Use all your senses.

~Make a vision board:  cut out images and words from a magazine and mouth them onto a piece of poster board.  Put it up where you can see it every single day.

~Learn something new.  Take a different route to work.  Where a color you would not normally wear.

Start a new chapter in your life story.  It is NEVER too late to change your story-NEVER.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.  To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.”  ~Helen Keller

Holiday Shopping 2012

posted by Jennifer Mullin

Greetings Friends!  Thanksgiving is just days away, as is Black Friday.  More importantly though is Small Business Saturday on 11/24/12.  This Saturday and holiday season I hope you will join us in supporting our local artists, artisans and small business owners.  Spending our money on items handcrafted and sold by the person who created them boosts the ecomony of our communities, encourages creativity, and keeps our hard-earned dollars in the beautiful state of Maine.  Small businesses who sell locally sourced items are doing us all a favor by offering merchandise that is beautiful, fresh, handmade, homemade, organic.  Their efforts in turn allow other Mainers to do what they love.  If you should kindly decide to order a Garden Leaf (or two, or three…) to give as gifts this holiday season, you live locally and would like to dispense with the shipping and handling fee, please contact me.  I can arrange to meet with you to hand you your leaf.

A sincere and grateful thank you to everyone who has purchased from The Magick Garden, signed up for the monthly newsletter, followed The Magick Garden on facebook, given kind words and glowing compliments.

Peace, Joy and Blessings,

Jennifer
