New from the depths of Winter

posted by Jennifer Mullin

I sit here on the eve of yet-another-blizzard this grey Sunday in mid February and dream of sunshiny Spring days with green grass, new-leaf-green leaves just beginning to unfurl on trees and early bulbs beginning to bloom.  Alas, it will be some weeks before any of this comes to pass.  I content myself to dream and plan while perusing seed catalogs, and garden magazines.

This year will be a time of transition for me in my professional life.  I have felt it coming for some time and know in my gut that this is the year.  I am both excited and scared out of my wits!  My focus this year will be on expanding my Services, searching out new venues for my Art and Craft, and Teaching.

To this end, I ask that you keep me in mind…

~If you have a desire to begin, clean up, revamp a garden and would like guidance/assistance.

~If you would like to spruce up your entry with gardens or decorative plantings in pots, or seasonal displays

~If you are selling your house and would like to increase curb appeal

~If you have purchased a new home and would like to make it your own with plantings or an attractive entry

~If you are looking for unique nature-inspired art and crafts for home or garden

~If you know of any venues that would welcome my art and crafts

Upcoming Events

Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 pm

Fee:  $35 (Due at class)

Embracing a Magickal Life: Where to Begin

This workshop will be held at Oakledge Polarity in Auburn.  Email me at jennifer.bourget@gmail.com , PM me on Facebook, or call me at 841-3053.  Maximum 6 participants.

Lemon water, herbal/green tea and light refreshments.

For workshop details, please read on…

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it. “

~Roald Dahl, The Minpins

What were your dreams when you were a child? What did you Make-Believe? Did you imagine yourself a Faerie Queen, a Traveling Minstrel or a Pirate on the Seven Seas? Were you dressed in Tiara, Wings and Glitter, or in Gypsy Turban and Shawl? Was your home in a Castle, an Oak Tree, a Seashell, or a Stone Cottage in a verdant Forest? What happened to your dreams as you grew a little older? What did you imagine your life would be like? What job would you have? Would you become a well-known author, artist, scientist? Would you travel the world, live in a bustling cosmopolitan city, or a charming cottage?

What are your dreams now? How far from those childhood dreams is the reality of your life? What would you be willing to do to bring those dreams in to existence?

Join me in the first workshop in the series, Embracing a Magickal Life. You are  invited to cast off the Uniform and Mask of your everyday existence and come dressed in whatever your True and Magickal Self longs to wear. I will guide you through a journey to connect with your Childhood Dreamer, after which you will journal any thoughts, impressions or visions you may have experienced. Everyone will be encouraged to Share, Discuss, Dream Aloud. You will be given Examples and Ideas of ways in which you may begin to bring Magick into your life. Everyone will create a small, portable Altar specifically focused on Manifesting these Dreams into Reality. All materials will be supplied, but you may bring any photos, magazine images, writing, small stones or crystals, statues, etc. that you would like to include on your Altar.

Here are some photos I took of the Altar I made:

This Fall and other Updates

posted by Jennifer Mullin

The good news is that I passed my Master Gardener exam!  Woo Hoo!  Now I am just in the process of accumulating the necessary volunteer hours so that I may officially be a Master Gardener.

The Magick Garden continues to evolve, and in the spirit of change and evolution, I have begun to tentatively put myself out there for garden consultation and design.  I admit to being both excited and scared silly about taking this step!  Soooo, I’m moving forward and stepping out into the unknown…

Perhaps you love gardens but have no idea how or where to begin? Perhaps you’d love to spruce up your entry, or would like to add a seasonal display.  If you’re planning on selling your home, giving the entry and front yard some added color and interest will increase your curb appeal.  I’m happy to consult and assist you in the process.  We will collaborate on your project.  Please see my Services Page   for details.

The Harpswell Garden Club Fun and Fabulous Fall Fest

This is a first-time event for me.  This fair will be on Saturday, September 10th from 8:30-1:00 at Centennial Hall 929 Harpswell Neck Rd. (Route 123), Harpswell, Maine.  The fair is held outdoors.  I will be there with many new Garden Leaves, as well as other handcrafted nature-inspired gifts for home and garden.  I will also have information about my services.  Hope to see you there!

Master Garden Course

posted by Jennifer Mullin

It’s been some time since my last post.  Life has a way of running away with one, doesn’t it?!  I am excited to tell you that I am half way through the Master Gardener Volunteer course through the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.  The class will end the third week of May, but I will still have volunteer hours to fulfill before I am official.  I have been learning so much and have met some wonderful folks along the way.

In The Magick Garden so many green growing things are poking their little heads up.  Snowdrops and Scilla have been in bloom.  Tulips and Narcissus are in bud.  I will follow-up with some photos soon.  Peas, nasturtiums and lettuce are planted.  Radishes are going in today.  I hope all of you are enjoying the spring weather and getting outside to revel in the beauty of nature.  🙂
